Seminal Film Srl was founded in 2001 with the aim of producing high quality audiovisuals and movies on

stories presently unexplored by Italian productions. General Manager of the company is Alessandro Piva who

produced his directing debuting feature LaCapaGira. (winner, among others, of a David di Donatello for Best

Debuting Director.)

Among the company’s productions, we can recall:

2002 in co-production with Tele+, the short feature La Situazione (2002 Locarno Film Festival);

2003 in association with Rai Cinema and Dada Film, a film by Alessandro Piva Mio Cognato (3 Nominations

at the 2003 Silver Ribbons);

2005 Puglia Perfetta, a series of commercials for the electoral campaign of the Apulia Governor Nichi Vendola

(winner of the 2005 Gala della Politica Award); a documentary film on Marsec (Mediterranean Agency for

Remote Sensing and Environmental Control); the FIPAV national campaign; the 2005 La Notte della Taranta;

Cucine, a commercial for Amgas; Atlante fisionomico, a photographic exhibition for the stand of the Apulia

Region at the BIT (Borsa Internazionale Turismo – International Tourism Exchange) of Milan;

2006 Perotti Point, a collective documentary film on the demolition of the eco-monster Punta Perotti; I libri di

Minerva, an institutional video for the Library of the Senate of the Italian Republic (awarded on occasion of the

World Day for Books and Copyrights, winner of the A Award Corto di Libri); video contributions for the live

broadcast of the 2006 La Notte della Taranta;

2007 film development for Alessio oltre il fiume winner of a Solinas Award for Best Original Story; 20

years of the Erasmus Project, an institutional video for the Ministry of Youth Policy; Di tutto per restare, a spot

for the Apulia Region; Dove nessuno è straniero, a documentary film on the Mediterranean Games for CONI;

A/V Orchestra, a multimedia project within the event “Notte dei Ricercatori 2007”; Resta Qui, a videoclip for

singer Tormento; a multimedia event in collaboration with photographer Gabriele Basilico for his 2006-07 Bari

exhibition.

2008 Two commercials for Fox International Channels Italy – National Geographic Channel (Sky Award 2008

and New York 2009 Promax Award); development of the TV format Camera Mia, an international survey on the

tastes and trends of worldwide youth supported by the Unesco and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

2009 Pasta Nera, a historical documentary film on childhood solidarity initiatives in postwar Italy (in association

with Cinecittà Luce and with the support of Progetto Casa Di Vittorio);

2010 the pre-production and production of Henry, presently in post-production, a film by Alessandro Piva to

be released in March, starring Carolina Crescentini and Claudio Gioè
